Death Match Austin 2020

Hey everyone,
As many of you know, on March 6th the City of Austin issued a disaster declaration, cancelling SXSW in light of concerns relating to the COVID-19 virus. As a result, our Death Match partner, Vans, also made the decision to disengage from all events in the month of March, including the Thrasher x Vans Death Match.
We considered pressing on and hosting the event no matter what, but between musical acts also canceling travel and professional skaters being grounded by their sponsors, we decided we could not deliver the same Death Match energy you’ve come to expect.
Most importantly, while hysteria in times like this often supercedes real health concerns, the last thing we’d ever want to do is put people in unnecessary danger. We look forward to the next Death Match in New York this October, as well as returning to Austin in 2021.
